New photos of the OnePlus X, or OnePlus Mini as it might be called, were recently published as the phone gained certification by the TENAA in China. The certification comes just days after a similar approval by the U.S. FCC, which also published pictures of the still-unannounced smartphone.
The OnePlus X/OnePlus Mini is expected to launch in markets around the world sometime before the end of this year, and early rumors indicate it will come in at a lower cost than the new OnePlus 2. It may also offer some features that the company left out of its 2015 flagship smartphone, including NFC. In the latest images, we can again see what appears to be either plastic or glass front and rear panels on the smartphone, in addition to soft-touch buttons present below the display.
At this point we’re expecting a mid-tier smartphone with a budget price point. Given that it’s now certified to launch in China and the U.S., it seems an official announcement could be just around the corner.
