Halo 5: Guardians has gone gold and naturally broken a few street dates around the country. True, people are playing it a little early, but the big reveal here is the file size and how much space you’ll be needing on your Xbox One’s hard drive to play this game.
60GB! As the size of video games grows, so too must the amount of space you’ll need to clear up whenever one you want gets released. The package doesn’t specify how much of that data will be divided between what is on the disc and what will be installed, but 60GB is the budget you’ll need to set before picking it up.
I remember when I first got my PlayStation 3 and struggled to find space when it had the original 60GB hard drive. Deleting, re-downloading, pritoritizing games I liked, games I thought I would play again, and games I would only ever play once. I already lived through those days, but all three of these modern consoles are bringing it back stronger than a flashback.
Halo 5: Guardians launches for the Xbox One on Oct. 27. Plenty of time to make a few cuts.
