Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’s day 1 patch put to a performance test

Whether you love ’em or hate ’em, day one patches have become the norm in the video gaming world. Remember the days when we could just pop a game in after rushing home from the store and it just worked? Some of you probably don’t, that’s how long this has been a thing.

Well, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection launches today, and it arrives with a day one patch as well. YouTube channel NX Gamer went ahead and did a pre and post-patch comparison test video.

The patch helps, though it doesn’t look like the trilogy of absolutely needed it. All three games improve thanks to the patch, thanks mostly to framerate stabilization. It also fixed some odd bugs and crash threats here and there across all three games.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection features all three Uncharted titles that released on the PlayStation 3. Our own Eric Frederiksen reviewed the bundle, and he absolutely loved it. I’ve played through each game a few times, and I’m thinking about snapping it up as well.
