Sega has released yet another Genesis classic on the Nintendo 3DS in 3D form. This time around, it’s one of my favorite games for the old system, Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
The game is selling for $5.99. It’s a 3D Classic title, much like other Sega games being sold on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This is not a Virtual Console port, folks.
The team doing the work and bringing this title up into 3D is M2. These are the same developers that have been working on Sega’s other 3D Classic titles, and they’ve earned a reputation for making really solid ports of old games. In fact, I’d say that the fact that M2 did this is pushing my need to buy it up even higher.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is an amazing game, and that comes regardless of exactly how useless Tails is. Hey, I’m just telling it like it is, folks. The character we all let our younger siblings and cousins control while we played as Sonic is lame. If you want to subject a friend to Tails, you can do so in Co-op or VS modes over local wireless.
The game, though? Awesome.
