Apple launches immersive Harry Potter iBooks

Apple on Thursday announced that it has launched all seven of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books with an immersive experience through iBooks. As a fan of the series, I’m compelled to reread all of the books, this time enjoying the animations and artwork that have been added.

The experience apparently isn’t exclusive to iBooks, however, and consumers who might not be on the platform can still find enhanced books through Rowling’s special “Pottermore Shop.” Apple’s versions offer “exclusive custom covers for each title, and typography including the custom Harry Potter Typefaces and new section headers and drop caps,” however.

Despite the added features, the books still offer a competitive price at $9.99 each. They’re available now in english in 32 countries, but French, German and Spanish versions will be coming on November 9.

The books are totally worth a read if you haven’t explored the series yet. I read them as an adult and still couldn’t put them down. Can I tell you a dirty secret, though? I never finished the last one.
