Another week, another of the seven primary attributes of the Fallout series’ ubiquitous vault dweller. This week we get a look at how the I in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. – intelligence – works in the wasteland.
As with previous games, intelligence is going to be crucial for things like hacking and creating the best weapons.
There’s something toward the end of the trailer that I want to pick on, though – the Vault Boy riding a car while the narrator talks about using your technological know-how to get around. Could cars be heading to Fallout 4?
Well, it’s very possible. We already know the game has jetpacks for personal use and flying vehicles that you can ride in from previous video clips, so characters aren’t near as bound to the earth as they were in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Cars were also present in the first two games in the series back when it was an isometric affair. Bethesda has also shown increasing interest in different ways to get around, adding dragons to Skyrim in a later download.
But then, it could point to something else; better navigation, some kind of transit system, or something like that. Player-controlled vehicles would be a big change, but I’d love to see it happen.
Either way, we only have to wait a month to find out – Fallout 4 hits PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 10.
