Last month Samsung and Barnes & Noble offered up a high-end tablet with the Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK. Now the two companies are back with a new device that offers a bigger screen for an even lower price.
The Galaxy Tab E NOOK packs a 9.6-inch screen, though the resolution is on the lower side at 1280 x 800 pixels. It also comes with 16GB of storage and a microSD slot for adding extra space, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a battery promising 12-hours of video playback.
The device runs a full version of Android with a handful of extra tweaks. That includes multi-window view and some pre-installed Microsoft Office apps. You’ll also get access to the NOOK store, along with three free digital books and $5 of credit to get you started.
That Galaxy Tab E NOOK costs at $249.99, though Barnes & Noble is also offering a trade-in option. You can bring an old iPad, Kindle or Samsung tablet to any of the company’s stores and receive as much as $200 off your new NOOK. Barnes & Noble members also get an additional 10 percent off.
