The Legend of Zelda Symphony to play The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert is absolutely doing his part when it comes to bringing gaming into the mainstream spotlight in a compelling way. Just last week, he hosted both Pewdiepie and Sean Murray of Hello Games, that’s the studio making No Man’s Sky. That interview was exceptional.

Now, Nintendo’s kicking its presence in with an appearance by The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. The musical guest will appear on Tuesday, October 13, and is set to include “highlights from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes game set to launch October 23.”

Pretty awesome. Looking down the current guest list for Colbert, I see names like Bill Clinton, Jack Black, Elvis Costello, Yo-Yo Ma and Oprah Winfrey. Colbert brought Zelda into that group, and that’s exceptional for the world of gaming.

I won’t be catching the performance as it airs, mostly because I can’t stay up that late and wake up with my four-year-old at six in the morning, but I’ll be checking it out the morning after.
