Sam Smith’s ‘Spectre’ music video reveals new footage

The official music video for Sam Smith’s theme song for Spectre, “Writing’s on the Wall,” has been released, and while it’s mostly just Smith standing around looking sad, there’s also some new footage from the movie.

Granted, the actual Spectre footage doesn’t reveal anything new, and it’s relatively muted to best match the melancholic tone of the song. But it gives us a sense of Bond’s loneliness; many of the shots we see are of him by himself, though there are a few of him with two of the film’s female leads.

The song’s lyrics also give us a sense of what Bond will go through when Spectre hits.

I’m prepared for this
I never shoot to miss
But I feel like a storm is coming
If I’m gonna make it through the day
Then there’s no more use in running
This is something I gotta face

This “something” that Bond has to face is his past, while also trying to uncover the origins of a mysterious organization known as Spectre.

Spectre is scheduled to hit theaters here’s in the U.S. on Nov. 6, and Oct. 26 in the U.K.
