HTC is all set to announce its next “One” branded smartphone later this month. We still don’t officially know what the device will be called, though a few recent filings suggest rumors of an HTC One A9 could be pretty accurate.
The upcoming smartphone passed through the Global Certification Forum earlier this week, where it’s listed as the HTC One A9. It was also spotted visiting the FCC under the title A9u. That could be an international version of the new device, which should work on most U.S. carriers as well.
The One A9 is expected to feature a fresh design along with a mix of mid-range specs. That could include a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an Ultrapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, and a fingerprint scanner. The device may come in a variety of colors including gold, silver, garnet (purple/red), rose gold and “cast iron.”
HTC is set to announce its new phone later this month at a virtual event on Oct. 20. The company isn’t planning to hold a regular press conference for the device, though hopefully we’ll be able to get some hands-on time with the One A9 soon after it’s unveiled.
