Asus ZenWatch 2 now on sale through the Google Store

The Asus ZenWatch 2 has joined a small but growing list of Android Wear watches now available through the Google Store. Both the 45mm and 49mm options are available with rubber and leather straps, and prices start at $149.

The ZenWatch 2 looks a lot like its predecessor, but it is much-improved in almost every way. The device boasts a larger battery with fast charging and up to 66 hours of use in between charges, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage.

The ZenWatch 2 is also IP67-rated for dust- and water-resistance like many of its rivals, but unlike most, it comes in two sizes. The Google Store is offering the 45mm option with a rubber strap in Light Aqua, and the 49mm option with a leather strap in Navy Blue.

Starting at $149, the ZenWatch 2 is more affordable than other Android Wear options, but offers almost all of the same features — including fitness tracking with a heart rate monitor. If you’re looking for an affordable gateway into the Wear ecosystem, then, ZenWatch 2 is a great option.

We expect ZenWatch 2 to reach Google Stores in international markets soon.
