Telltale Games and Mojang are prepping for the upcoming release of Minecraft: Story Mode on Oct. 13 by holding a Hollywood world premiere party. At the show, fans will be asked to join along in the “World’s Largest Let’s Play” on Oct. 12 at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome.
Tickets and information will be available on request at email@example.com.
In addition to the announcement, Telltale has released another trailer for the upcoming game, further laying out the story of Minecraft: Story Mode. Legend tells of four heroes making up the Order of the Stone who once saved the world from the Ender Dragon, but they have since been lost to time after their quest came to an end. Now, we have these goofball heroes who must set out to find them and call upon their services again.
Of course, they’ll probably just end up being the new heroes of legend in the process. Just a guess.
Comedian John Hodgman, from The Daily Show and the PC in those older Apple commercials, also confirmed that he would be a part of the cast, playing the character of Soren the Architect. He joins a huge cast of actors including Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Billy West, Paul Reubens, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman and Grey Griffin.
Minecraft: Story Mode launches on Oct. 13 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android. A boxed version for consoles will launch on Oct. 21.
