DriveClub’s free PlayStation Plus version being removed this October

by Joey Davidson | October 1, 2015October 1, 2015 10:40 am PDT

After a lot of delays, the promised PlayStation Plus edition of DriveClub was released on June 25, 2015. This version essentially took a slice of the game and made it free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers.

After roughly four months in its available state, the PlayStation Plus version of DriveClub is being removed. All hail digital distribution!

The news comes from the bottom of the European PlayStation Blog‘s update about the coming PlayStation Plus releases. It’s there that they list all the games leaving PS Plus on October 6, 2015. Right next to Septembers Instant Game Collection is Driveclub PS Plus Edition.

That’s all Sony has said about the free version of their racing game. They haven’t offered any official clarification beyond that single line, and we don’t know whether or not folks who’ve picked up Driveclub‘s PS Plus edition will be able to play it once it leaves the catalog.

If any more comes from this news, we’ll have it for you.
