You didn’t think Nintendo was going to leave us totally dry this November, did you? While Star Fox Zero might have unfortunately slipped into 2016, Nintendo has stepped up to release the next Mario Tennis game in its stead.
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash has been confirmed for a Nov. 20 release date, and in all honesty, this is the first I have heard of it or at least remember hearing of it. Maybe the hype isn’t there or Nintendo was forced to release it sooner than it wanted, but I’m just as shocked to learn of its existence rather than its sudden release date.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash joins Yoshi’s Woolly World and Xenoblade Chronicles X as the Wii U’s biggest games of the holiday season. With Super Mario Maker already out in the public, it’s looking to be a solid few months for Wii U owners.
Yes, Mario Tennis, alongside Golf, have always been the best sports sub-series for Mario, and now that I know about it, I have little reason to doubt that Nintendo will fail to deliver on that. It’s no Star Fox, but at least it’s something to stem the tide.
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash will be released for the Wii U on Nov. 20.
