Galaxy View cleared for launch ahead of Oct. debut

Earlier this month, Samsung teased a new product called the Galaxy View and promised more details in October. Samsung hasn’t said much since then, but as September comes to an end it looks like the Galaxy View is cleared for launch in Korea.

The device was spotted passing through the Radio Research Agency (RRA) in Samsung’s home country on Thursday. The listing doesn’t reveal much, describing a wireless device with the model number SM-T670. That’s the same gadget the company submitted for Bluetooth certification earlier this month.

The Galaxy View is expected to feature a massive 18.4-inch display. The new device will also reportedly pack a Samsung Exynos 7580 processor, 32GB of expandable storage, 2GB of RAM and a respectable 5,700mAh battery. That should make for a pretty compelling product, though we still have plenty of questions.

What kind of specialized software will the device run to take advantage of that massive display? And what other features and add-on accessories will Samsung include? Hopefully we’ll learn more soon, though the company still hasn’t confirmed plans for a specific event in October.
