Google Photos getting shared albums soon

by Todd Haselton | September 29, 2015September 29, 2015 9:47 am PDT

Google said on Tuesday that Google Photos will support shared photo albums this year. That means that, perhaps while on vacation with your family, each member can join an album and upload photos during the break. Your wife, for example, might upload photos of her and your daughter on a beach, while you upload photos of you and your son on a bike ride.

Other features coming to Photos include Chromecast support, which launches this week for Android and allows you to easily Cast photos right to your TV. Additionally, you can create profiles for friends and family so that you can easily always search for them in an album. In one example, Google showed a search for something like “Todd Hiking” which would show results not only of hiking or Todd, but of Todd actually hiking.

Pretty neat stuff coming to Photos this year, we’ll keep you in the loop as each hits.
