If you’re planning to play Street Fighter V on PC when it hits next year instead of on PlayStation 4, you’ll need the right rig to get the job done. While many publishers keep their specs a secret until just weeks before release, Capcom has released not only the minimum specs but the recommended ones as well, so we have plenty of time to make sure our PCs can get the best possible experience out of their fighter.
If you want the basic experience, most PC gamers will be ready to handle most of what the game is asking for:
- Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.60GHz processor
- 6GB DDR3 RAM
- Nvidia GTX 480, 570, or 670 video card
- DirectX 11
- Direct X compatible soundcard
If you want to get the best possible experience, here’s what Capcom says you’ll want:
- Intel Core i5-4690K @ 3.50GHz processor
- 8GB DDR3 RAM
- Nvidia GTX 960 video card
- DirectX 11
Even the recommended specs are nothing like a top-tier PC, so if you’re actively playing PC games, you’re probably set.
The final version of the game will feature cross-platform play with the PlayStation 4 when it hits next year, and the recommended specs will help ensure that, at the very least, it’s not your computer that’s responsible for the loss of the match. You’ll have to blame your Internet provider or, just maybe, accept that you actually lost.
Whether you’re as bad at Street Fighter as I am or not, Street Fighter V releases sometime next year.
