Phoenix Wright anime set to air this April on Japanese television

Ace Attorney anime

Because justice does indeed exist in this world, Capcom took to the live stage at Tokyo Game Show 2015 over the weekend, and it confirmed that its popular Ace Attorney “lawyer simulation” franchise would be getting its very own anime this coming April. Fans have been calling for such a project for nearly a decade now, and it is finally coming to fruition!

Beyond the air dates, Capcom did not confirm any other information besides the three main characters. It stars Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth and Maya Fey, all of whom look young and spry, so we can assume that this story will take place during the first trilogy of games. Maya has not been in the later games, and both of our lawyer friends here have aged like normal “non-anime” human beings over the last few games.

Seriously, how many Japanese anime characters age? Not many.

If this is the case, then it will not be related to the story of the upcoming Ace Attorney 6, which was also announced at the convention last week. That latest game will take place in a country overrun with spirits and superstitions. The first games take place in a fictional setting similar to Japan.

Any objections? I didn’t think so. Be sure to check your favored anime provider from April for this exciting series. See below for screenshots of the game.
