Sony’s new Xperia Z5 ad demonstrates SteadyShot stabilization

Sony has rolled out a brand new ad for its new Xperia Z5, showcasing its SteadyShot image stabilization technology, which helps you shoot smoother high-definition videos even when you’re on the move.

“When the action’s too good to miss, you need to be confident in a camera smartphone that will capture every detail, flawlessly,” Sony says. “Whether you’re taking a ride on the rocky side or keeping up a swift pace to capture footage, SteadyShot Intelligent Active Mode in Xperia Z5 doesn’t miss a moment of the movement.”

In the 40-second YouTube video below, Sony shows us what its video recording looks like with and without SteadyShot stabilization applied. The footage was filmed on a bike, so without SteadyShot, it gets pretty choppy. But that’s not the case when the technology is enabled.

While SteadyShot doesn’t eliminate the choppiness completely, it clearly makes a huge difference, and it’s not exclusive to the Xperia Z5 — the technology is also available on the Xperia Z5 Premium and the Xperia Z5 Compact.
