Huawei’s new Nexus smartphone, which could be named the “Nexus 6P,” will be the first Google smartphone to offer up to 128GB of internal storage, according to a new report.
Without expandable storage, the internal capacity of Nexus devices is hugely important — especially for those who like to carry a lot of movies, music, and images. Last year’s Nexus 6 came with up to 64GB of space, but Google could be about to double that this year.
According to “trusted” sources who have been speaking to Android Police, the Huawei-made Nexus 6P “will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants,” which matches competing flagships from the likes of Apple and Samsung.
“Expect a $50-100 price premium at each increased storage level,” the report adds.
As for LG’s “Nexus 5X,” which will be a more affordable device with more affordable specifications, recent reports have claimed, storage options are said to include 16GB and 32GB options.
Both Nexus smartphones are expected to make their official debuts during Google’s big event on September 29.
