The third and final trailer for Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic has been released, giving us our best look yet at Apple’s troubled co-founder. Better yet, it gives us a look at the life of Steve Jobs, from his struggle to build the Mac to his rocky relationship with his daughter, Lisa. This isn’t a sugar coated underdog story where Jobs is put on a pedestal as Apple’s savior. Steve Jobs is an account of the man’s darker side, the controlling, terrifying, unpleasant leader that the public didn’t know.
While the film is set across three major product launches, the film also peeks behind the curtains as Jobs fights to bring his vision of the home computer to reality. Thrown in for good measure is his ouster as CEO, his triumphant return, and how Jobs refused to pay child support. His life wasn’t pretty, though he still managed to give off the impression of a charming, passionate, and revolutionary thinker.
Steve Jobs made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival to rave reviews, and is set for screenings at the New York Film Festival as well. Otherwise you can catch the movie, which stars Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, in theaters on Oct. 9.
