Creepy clown adventure Dropsy now on Steam for 10 percent off

Indie publisher Devolver Digital has finally pushed out Jay Tholen’s crowdfunded point-and-kiss adventure game, Dropsy. This offbeat title puts players in the role of a horrifying clown who just wants to make people happy by kissing them.

Oh, and he also wants to clear his name of the murder of hundreds of people after he is the sole survivor of a circus fire.

Dropsy plays out very similarly to classic adventure games like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle. It features logic, or some would say “illogic,” puzzles using inventory items and dialogue that isn’t actually spoken. In the world of Dropsy, characters speak in grunts and icons.

The game is available now on Steam for $8.99, and reception has been pretty positive so far, especially towards the central character and his charming, surprisingly heartwarming story. I’ll probably get around to it next week once I get back from Tokyo Game Show, and I’ll let you know what I think.

Dropsy is available for Mac and PC.
