The save bug which was deleting games and halting progress in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been dealt with on two platforms. Both the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game have been given the all clear, and the glitch will no longer occur.
Xbox One and previous generation owners will still have to be on the lookout for a short while. The bug is triggered if Quiet is brought along as a buddy on Missions 29 and 42, so it is best to just avoid using her for those two. If you feel so inclined though, using the Butterfly Emblem will help offset the effects of the bug.
We're happy to report that a fix for the Quiet/save data issue has now been implemented for PS4. The same fix for other platforms are coming

Thank goodness, too. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the absolute best video game to launch since the latest consoles hit the market two years ago, but if I were to lose my save file and all those dozens of hours of work, I don’t think I’d have it in me to fire it up again. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain manages to make the busy-work of sandbox games surprisingly “fun” where most others fail, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t hesitate to send it through a paper shredder if all that hard work vanished into thin air.
More information on Metal Gear Online is expected at Tokyo Game Show 2015 this week, so stay tuned for our from-the-floor coverage.
