Apple fans can’t tell the original iPhone from the iPhone 6s

There’s a new iPhone and that means a new prank video from Jimmy Kimmel Live. This time Kimmel’s team took to the streets with a first-generation iPhone to see if people would mistake it for the iPhone 6s. Believe it or not, some Apple fans actually fell for it.

A series of on-the-street interviews reveal that people are willing to believe Apple would release a 3.5-inch smartphone in 2015. They also believe it when they’re told that the device features a sharper display and a faster processor (it doesn’t). One person even holds up her current iPhone 6 next to the original handset for comparison and says she likes the “new” model, calling it “dainty” by comparison.

It’s a pretty hilarious video, but we can probably learn something too. Maybe Apple really should release smaller smartphone with upgraded specs. That certainly seems to be something at least a few people are interested in.

Rumor has it Cupertino is still working on a smaller 4-inch handset likely called the iPhone 6c. However, there’s still no word on when the device could actually hit stores. We’re not expecting any more news from Apple this year, so it could be a while before the device arrives (assuming it does at all).
