Leaked slides have revealed Dell’s new 2-in-1 tablet to take on the Microsoft Surface. It’s called the XPS 12, and it is expected to make its official debut next month with an UltraSharp 4K display and “Dell Active” stylus.

The XPS 12 is a tablet with a magnetic keyboard companion that takes some cues from Dell’s XPS 13 — one of the best Windows notebooks currently available. Not only does it have a sharper display (3840×2160) than the Surface, but it also has narrower bezels, too.

Other specifications include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, and 10-hour battery life. The XPS 12 also comes with Windows 10 pre-installed, with stylus-friendly apps like OneNote and Bamboo Paper.

The XPS 12’s keyboard has backlit keys and a precision touchpad that “works flawlessly.” There’s also a “Dell Active” stylus that allows users to jot down notes and sketches, though there are no details on that particular accessory at this point.

It’s difficult to confirm these slides are genuine right now, of course — but alongside the images of the supposed XPS 12, they certainly look it. We should find out for certain next month, which is when the XPS 12 is scheduled to make its debut, according to the image above.
