The Galaxy S6 isn’t perfect, but it’s still a pretty great smartphone. Now that speculation is picking up around the Galaxy S7, we’re starting to hear some pretty weird rumors about next year’s flagship Samsung phone.
A new report out of Korea claims the Galaxy S7 will pack a dual-camera setup in back. We assume this will be similar to the rear camera on the HTC One M8, which let you change a photo’s focus after you took it, but never really caught on as a popular feature. It’s possible Samsung could have something better up its sleeve, but for now we’re just not sold on this gimmick in general.
The same article also suggests Samsung could bump up the Galaxy S7 to a 5.7-inch display. That’s a pretty big jump from the 5.1-inch screen on the Galaxy S6. According to earlier reports, the company may actually offer the upcoming phone in two different sizes, in which case this could be the larger option.
Rumor has it Samsung will also pack the Galaxy S7 with either a Snapdragon 820 chip or a new in-house Exynos processor, depending on where you buy it. We expect 4GB of RAM and a Quad HD resolution display as well.
Of course, it’s still way too soon to know whether any of this is actually true. Samsung still has plenty of time to finalize the Galaxy S7. We just hope the company ends up making the right decisions when it comes to the new phone’s hardware.
