Fallout 3’s DJ Three Dog won’t be in Fallout 4

One of the highlights of 2008’s Fallout 3 was the oldies-infused Galaxy News Radio station hosted by a mysterious man called Three Dog. I ran that station, much to the chagrin of my ex, for a good portion of the 120-plus hours I spent in Bethesda’s take on Washington D.C., so I was excited when Three Dog’s voice actor, Erik Todd Dellums, teased his involvement with the series back in 2013:

Sadly, it looks like that wasn’t to be. Dellums was as surprised as anyone when Bethesda announced they’d completed recording 111,000 lines of dialogue for the game last week.

Some of the original tweets have since been deleted, but Dellums has spent much of the last few days thanking fans for their outpouring of support following the news. It doesn’t seem from the tone of his tweets like this is a cover-up for a surprise appearance, so it’s likely that if there’s another radio DJ, it’ll be voiced by some other number of dogs. He’ll be missed, as he was a highlight of Fallout 3 for many.

Three Dog or not, Fallout 4 releases for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 10.
