iOS 9.1 public beta now available

by Todd Haselton | September 10, 2015September 10, 2015 1:10 pm PDT

Apple is moving at a pretty rapid pace. Just Wednesday it released the GM for iOS 9 (an earlier version of which is pictured in the gallery above), the GM for watchOS 2, the GM for El Capitan and the first iOS 9.1 beta. Now it’s back with the same iOS 9.1 beta, but this time for public testers.

Usually there’s a bit of a gap between the developer and public beta tester releases, but maybe Apple is feeling a bit more confident about this release. It includes APIs for Live Photos, 3D Touch APIs and the Apple Pencil, not that you can use those features yet, anyway.

But hey, if you want to be the first on your block with the next version of iOS, which people still don’t even have, then you can be that person.
