After first announcing its plans to support Apple Pay back in spring, Discover has confirmed that customers will finally be able to use the mobile payments service starting September 16.

Not only will Discover card holders be able to use Apple Pay on this date, but they’ll also be rewarded for doing so, with an automatic 10 percent cashback bonus on in-store purchases up to $10,000 until the end of 2015. Discover it Miles, Miles, and Escape cardmembers will also earn an extra 10 miles per dollar on in-store purchases up to $10,000.

“Rewards have always been important to our cardmembers, and we want to make sure they receive a generous offer for shopping with Discover and Apple Pay,” said Heather Roche, vice president of rewards at Discover. “We want to encourage new and existing Discover cardmembers to add their Discover card to Apple Pay with a few simple clicks using our mobile app.”

When you use your Discover card with Apple Pay, you’ll continue to receive the same level of protection, services, and benefits offered by Discover — including 24/7 customer support in the U.S., and the $0 Fraud Liability Guarantee.

Discover is the last major credit card issuer in the U.S. to support Apple Pay, following American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and many more.
