HTC’s new flagship phone could be official before the end of the month. A new teaser spotted online by Twitter tipster @upleaks teases an upcoming event where two new phones might be announced.

The invitation apparently promises a “double flagship” unveiling at the event, which is set for late September in Japan. The location suggests HTC could focus on its Butterfly smartphone series, which is typically released as a Japanese exclusive. Then again, it’s only been a few months since the HTC J Butterfly was revealed, so we’re not really sure what to expect.
It’s possible HTC could use the opportunity to reveal its long-rumored new flagship phone. The alleged HTC Aero (or possibly the One A9) is expected to feature a high-end design, a powerful new camera and solid overall specs. AT&T is apparently set to offer the device in the U.S., though that doesn’t mean other carriers won’t support the new phone too.
Until HTC makes an actual announcement we wouldn’t get too excited. Aero rumors have been floating around for a while now, and just last week one leak suggested the device could arrive on Sept. 6. Hopefully this latest rumor turns out to be true, though for now you can check out a few alleged leaked Aero images below.
