Next week’s Apple event is gearing up to be pretty action packed. In addition to new iPhones, an Apple TV and maybe even some new iPads, the Cupertino company might also introduce new Apple Watch Sport bands, according to 9to5Mac.
Currently, Sport band colors include bright green, blue and pink, along with black and white. However, Apple is expected to extend its range to colors such as red, yellow, orange and more. In fact, Apple’s Jony Ive showed off a number of these new colors during Milan Design Week in April, so it’s been a long time coming.
With an onslaught of new Android Wear devices on the way, along with support for iOS, Apple will need all the ammo it can get to stave of Google’s wearable revolution. While new bands don’t necessarily add functionality to the Apple Watch, they do allow users to customize the device based on their personal preference.
Later this year, Apple is expected to release watchOS 2, which introduces new watch faces, a cool Time Travel feature, native apps, and more. You can see a hands of of a developer preview in the video below.
