Apple’s long-awaited iPad Pro, which we’ve been hearing about for months now, is expected to debut at next week’s Sept. 9 event. According to 9to5Mac, Apple will put the new device up for pre-order in October, and release it in November, just in time for the holiday season. No iPad Air upgrade is expected, although Apple does apparently have plans to introduce a new iPad mini.
No real details are provided in the report, and 9to5Mac even warns that Apple might delay the iPad Pro’s announcement to early October. However, given the size of the Bill Graham auditorium in San Francisco—it seats 7,000 people—Apple is gearing up to make next week’s event one of its biggest ever, so it will no doubt want the iPad Pro to take part in the festivities.
The iPad Pro is expected to feature a large screen similar in size to a MacBook, and feature a Force Touch-based stylus, 9to5Mac said. Additionally, Apple’s iPad mini 4 will supposedly be thinner than the existing iPad mini, and include a faster A8 chip that takes advantage of the new multitasking capabilities in iOS 9.
Other announcements expected at Apple’s event next week include new iPhones, and an upgraded Apple TV.
