Just Cause 3 is promising to be the most destructive video game on the market. The chaos and explosions rival even the previous game, Just Cause 2, and Avalanche Studios has made it its mission to not be second best.
A new developer diary stars many members of the Just Cause 3 team explaining the depth and care that went into making Just Cause 3 the most over-the-top video game on the market. Many criticize the Just Cause games as being too simple and nothing more than fancy explosions, but the descriptions in the dev diary should put those arguments to rest. There is plenty going on under the graphics that make this more than just a simple explosion simulator.
This is what I want to see Avalanche talking about. I like Rico, but a deep character study into his motives are not what I play Just Cause for, nor is it what I want to hear about in a dev diary. Plenty of games have explosions. Making them so addicting is what sets Just Cause apart from the rest of the crowd.
Just Cause 3 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Dec. 1.
