Amazon on Wednesday launched Amazon Underground, its new app store/store hybrid for Android devices that includes free apps, games and even in-app purchases. The company said there’s more than $10,000 in savings from Amazon underground.

“In Underground, you will find 100% free versions of popular premium titles like OfficeSuite Professional 8, Goat Simulator, and PhotoSuite 4 and popular titles with in-app purchases like Frozen Free Fall, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, Angry Birds Slingshot, Stella, Looney Tunes Dash! and many more,” the company said.

Amazon said it’s able to offer the free option to consumers because it will pay developers “a certain amount on a per-minute played basis in exchange for them waving their normal in-app fees.” Underground isn’t just about apps, it also allows you to shop for Prime products.

Amazon Underground is a “long-term program,” the company said, noting that it will continue to build on the offering that’s already available. You can download Underground now by visiting http://amazon.com/underground or hitting the source link below.
