‘Star Wars: Rogue One’—Are these new Stormtrooper helmets?

That Stormtrooper helmet in the middle of the first photo above is pretty familiar to Star Wars fans, showing up in the Galactic Empire era of the original trilogy. But those other two? They’re a complete mystery.

Actor Donnie Yen, who is part of the Star Wars: Rogue One cast, posted the above image to his Instagram in the most nonchalant way possible.

“I am the force and I fear nothing,” Yen said in a caption attached to the photo.

Interpret that how you will. In the cast photo shared by Disney at D23 last weekend, Yen’s character sure had a “kung fu master” vibe to him, carrying a kind of walking stick that looks suspiciously like it also doubles as some kind of weapon. Beyond his outfit, however, we know pretty much nothing about him. Judging by his clouded eyes, his character appears as though he’s blind.

It’s hard to determine how large the helmets are based on the image, and if they really are important to Rogue One’s story or not. The black helmet looks pretty similar to what we’d see an Imperial fighter pilot wear, while the helmet on the right almost looks like what a Scout Trooper would wear.

Important or not, the helmets look awesome, and would be a great fit with the tone of Rogue One, which is said to be a gritty war tale.

Until we learn more, enjoy some pics from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
