The gamescom 2015 demo for Rise of the Tomb Raider featured a whole lot of murder by Lara Croft. Players who tend to take more of a nonviolent approach to silent sections of these games found the clip to be a bit off-putting. Croft is more stealth than Rambo, they offered, so she shouldn’t be killing like this.
Well, asked and answered. Crystal Dynamics has released a gameplay clip that takes the exact same segment from gamescom 2015 and does it in a stealth way.
Honestly, I didn’t care about all the killing in the Rise of the Tomb Raider demo. The kills in games don’t really bother me, so this sort of felt like a non-issue. I do, however, really appreciate that Crystal Dynamics is making a game that can be played however players like.
The dev does indicate that sometimes violence is a requirement, but the fact that whole sections can be stealthed? I like that.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is an Xbox One exclusive this holiday. It will go on sale on Nov. 10, 2015. PC will get it earlier next year, while PlayStation 4 will see it next holiday.
