As we round the corner on August and slowly wind down the summer, Nintendo of America has released their calendar of launch dates for the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and amiibo lineup.
Honestly, there’s a lot more coming this season than I realized, though not everything looks like a solid gold hit. It’s sort of an off year for Nintendo this holiday, with a few exceptions that should shake things up nicely.
For the big titles, we’ve got Super Mario Maker for the Wii U on Sept. 11, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the 3DS on Sept. 25, Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash for the 3DS on Oct. 9, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes for the 3DS on Oct. 23, Yo-Kai Watch for the 3DS on Nov. 6, Star Fox Zero for the Wii U on Nov. 24 and, finally, Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U on Dec. 4.
Aside from Super Mario Maker, there’s nothing there that has the potential to really, really set to world on fire sales wise. I’m looking forward to the holiday from Nintendo as someone who typically likes more niche focused games like Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, but I’m not sure the public at large will feel the same way.
We’ll see how things shake out once this holiday really starts to roll in.
