As rumored, it looks like the the Huawei Nexus will feature a metal design, though it may be more of a removable shell than a unibody frame. We also see the expected fingerprint reader in back, just like in leaked pictures of LG’s new Nexus 5. Finally there’s that camera hump, which sticks out from the rest of the device and runs the entire width of the device.
Meanwhile, the front of the new phone looks pretty standard. There’s a small selfie camera and a pair of front-facing speakers. You can also see the outline of a metal rim around the edges of the Huawei phablet.
We’re expecting the new Nexus to pack a 5.7-inch Quad HD display along with a 21-megapixel camera, a USB-C port and wireless charging. Under the hood you’ll likely find a high-end Snapdragon processor and a 3500mAh battery. Of course the device will also run stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box
Google is likely to launch both the Huawei Nexus and a regular sized model from LG later this year. Traditionally the new devices arrive near the end of October, though it’s possible Google could push up the release a little considering the current rate of leaks.
