Samsung allegedly prepping a massive 18.4-inch Android tablet

Earlier this month, Samsung was spotted shipping a new 18.4-inch tablet to India for testing. At the time we assumed it was just a fluke, but a new report suggests the company could be serious about releasing this oversized Android slate.

According to SamMobile, the device (codename Tahoe) will run a modified version of Android 5.1 Lollipop and feature an 18.4-inch display with a surprisingly low resolution of 1080p. The rumored tablet could also pack a 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with microSD support, 5700mAh battery, an 8-megapixel primary camera and 2.1-megapixel secondary shooter.

There’s still no word on how much the new tablet will cost or when it might be available, though we’re guessing Samsung’s 18.4-inch slate won’t come cheap. The company is expected to announce a few new products next month at IFA, but it seems unlikely the alleged Tahoe will get any stage time at the upcoming event.
