Cities: Skylines night time expansion, After Dark, coming in September

If you’ve never played Cities: Skylines, it might surprise you to learn that the glorious city building simulator doesn’t actually have a day and night cycle. It’s always day, changing between different shades of sun during play. That’s a problem that will soon go away as a new expansion rolls in.

Cities: Skylines – After Dark will add that day and night cycle, and nighttime includes an all new economy, commercial zones and more. Even daytime gets some changes as new areas like the beach do really well during the daylight hours.

Destructoid spoke with Colossal Order Lead Designer Karoliina Korppoo about the expansion. “We originally said that we’d never make a day and night cycle for our game,” it turns out. “But we changed our minds.”

The After Dark expansion will go on sale starting on September 24. It will sell for $15.
