Final Fantasy VII is rolling out now on the iOS store

The Final Fantasy VII remake is years off, and the PlayStation 4 port of the original is still a few months off with a winter release date. The iOS version of it, however, is rolling out now.

This version, of course, uses virtual controls. You can switch between an analog stick and a “fixed 4-way digital control pad” to find the right control scheme for you.

There are a couple pretty cool changes worth mentioning. You can turn off non-story battles completely at any time if an area is driving you nuts and you just want to get through it without grinding. You can also max your party’s stats out at anytime to “become all-powerful in the blink of an eye.” These are two nice concessions to make an older game less tedious on a new platform.

The game is $19.99, which is high but not unexpected from Square Enix and their iOS releases.
