We’re big fans of LG’s G Flex series, which uses flexible OLED technology to build awesome banana-shaped smartphones. However, it looks like the company could go a less original route with its next curved handset.

A handful of recent LG trademarks spotted by Phandroid suggest it could be preparing to launch its own Edge devices. The company now owns the rights to the following names: Super Edge, Dual Edge, Upper Edge, Side Edge, Double Edge, Two Edge and G Edge. This seems like a pretty clear dig at Samsung, which just announced the Galaxy S6 edge Plus, though it’s unclear how serious LG is about these new trademarks.

Phandroid suggests that the company could be trolling its South Korean rival. It’s also possible LG is simply trying to scoop up possible names so Samsung can’t use them in the future. Then again, we’re not willing to rule out the possibility that an LG Edge device is actually on the way just yet.
