Motorola U.K. has slashed £155 (approx. $242) off the 2014 Moto X in its latest summer sale. The discount brings the price of a 16GB handset down from £395 (approx. $617) to just £240 (approx. $375).
It may not be Motorola’s latest flagship anymore — that title goes to the new Moto X Style and Moto X Play — but the 2014 Moto X is still a terrific smartphone, with a similar external design, decent specifications, and Google’s latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software.
The 2014 Moto X features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. It’s also customizable when purchased directly from Motorola, though adding premium finishes like leather will push the price up a little bit.
For those shopping for a capable smartphone that won’t break the bank, then, the 2014 Moto X could be an ideal alternative to the latest flagships. Shoppers in the U.K. can currently bag the 16GB version for £240, while the 32GB version can be had for £290 (approx. $453).
For an even cheaper option, you can currently save £10 (approx. $16) on the second-generation Moto E, which is down to just £99 (approx. $155).
To take advantage of these discounts, simply add your chosen handset to your cart on Motorola’s online store, then checkout using the code “UKSUMMERSALE1” for the Moto X, or “UKSUMMERSALE2” for the Moto E. The sale ends on August 31.
