Remember Facebook Notes? The social network’s blogging service used to be pretty popular, but it hasn’t gotten any real attention in the past few years as the company focused on improving status updates instead. Now it looks like Notes could be getting a total redesign to compete with a new generation of blogging websites.
Facebook "notes" have a new Medium-like appearance. (See comments on this note.) https://t.co/e8QQwWEXeN

The new version of Notes, which was spotted by David Winer, offers a much cleaner version of the old blogging platform. There’s a big banner image up top and plenty of white space. It really does remind us of Medium, though without some of the extra features that make that service so easy to use.
Speaking to The Verge, Facebook confirmed the update but suggested it may not be permanent. “We’re testing an update to Notes to make it easier for people to create and read longer-form stories on Facebook,” a company representative said.
We’re curious how Facebook will promote the new Notes and how those posts will look in your News Feed, assuming the new test version gets an official launch. Hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
