LG G Pad II 8.0 revealed with some interesting new features

LG has been pushing out G Pad-branded devices for a few years. Now the company is kicking off a new generation of Android tablets with the new 8-inch G Pad II, which it revealed this week in Korea.

The G Pad II looks like a pretty straightforward Android tablet, but it packs a few surprises. Most exciting here is a full-sized USB port at the bottom of the device, which could mean support for lots of cool accessories. There’s also a super-thin stylus and some complicated productivity apps to go with it.

Unfortunately, the device’s specs are a little less exciting. You get an 8-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 4200mAh battery. There’s no word on the G Pad II’s camera power, but given the rest of its hardware we aren’t expecting much.

LG doesn’t reveal a price or release date either, though it looks like this model could be limited to South Korea for now. Hopefully the company has bigger plans for the G Pad II series. We’d love to see a premium tablet with USB support and a stylus get a global launch.
