The multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops III begins next week on the PlayStation 4. As such, Activision and Treyarch have elected to show the Duty world how to move.
Yep, the video you see above is a combat movement tutorial for Call of Duty: Black Ops III meant to prep the community for things like wall running, sliding, vaulting and fancy jumping.
Want to swim and shoot? Yep, Black Ops III has that.
No idea if I’ll catch flack for this from the Call of Duty community, or not, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Activision and Treyarch took some serious inspiration from Respawn’s Titanfall. The wall-running, the speed, it all seems very reminiscent of what we had in that shooter.
Not that that’s a problem, though. I actually enjoy the ability to move about the map in that style, and I find it encourages strategy in motion rather than camping. This, as far as I’m concerned, is a good thing.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops III beta will begin for those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 on August 19. Xbox One and PC gamers who pre-ordered the title will have access to the beta from August 26 through August 30.
