128GB Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ accidentally hit Samsung site

When Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on Thursday, the company said that both phones will ship with either 32GB or 64GB of storage.

That was as pretty big change from the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which had 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options, and didn’t seem to cater to real “power users.” On Friday, The Verge noticed that Samsung’s site lists 128GB options for the new Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Don’t get your hopes up just yet.

Samsung told the news outlet that the listings were “incorrect,” that it’s fixing its website and that it isn’t currently offering those storage options. This, however, leaves the door open that perhaps Samsung does indeed have plans to launch higher capacity models later on, perhaps in an effort to grab new users as the current devices age.

Is it worth holding out hope for? Maybe, if you really want that storage option, but we probably wouldn’t. It’s definitely possible this was just an accidental slip up and there aren’t any plans to offer 128GB storage options. Seems fishy, though.
