Galaxy Note 5 vs. Nexus 6 Spec shootout — Android phablet showdown

by Todd Haselton | August 13, 2015August 13, 2015 9:20 am PDT

The Galaxy Note 5 is here at last and, by all accounts, it should end up being the most powerful Android smartphone on the market. At least if early benchmarks of its now confirmed Exynos 7420 processor are accurate. So how does it stack up against the Nexus 6, the flagship pure Android smartphone?

We have those answers. For one, you’ll find Quad HD displays on both, though the Nexus 6 has a larger screen than the Galaxy Note 5’s 5.7-inch panel. You don’t get front-facing speakers with Samsung’s new phablet, either, but you do get an S Pen. Also, the Galaxy Note 5’s 16-megapixel camera should blow the Nexus 6’s sensor out of the water.

Ultimately, though, the Galaxy Note 5 isn’t a pure Android handset, which is what attracts Nexus fans in the first place. Wondering what else is different? Check out the specs of both phones below.
