Plex for iOS rebuilt from the ground up

Popular media streaming and server app Plex has received a complete overhaul for iOS. The old app, which had a pretty terrible two star rating in the iTunes App Store, is finally gone. And in its place is a new version of Plex that was built from the ground up with plenty of new features.

The application is free if you want to do basic things, like control your media or share photos with Plex-enabled devices. You can also opt to pay for the Premium Plex Pass, which costs $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $149.99 for lifetime access and provides access to all of the features Plex offers.

Some new additions include video chapters, which allows you to skip to specific chapters in a movie if your file supports it. If not, Plex can pull that data from ChapterDb. Rotten Tomatoes scores are also now included in the app, as are new discovery features so you can find movies in a similar genre, favorite actors and more. Finally, Plex for iOS also includes Sync v3 that keeps everything in sync across all of your devices, including playlists.

You can find the new Plex in the iTunes App Store now, or hit the source to learn more.
