Don’t expect a new Elder Scrolls game for a “very long time,” according to Bethesda

For now and into the immediate future, it’s all Fallout 4 for Bethesda.

Dual Shockers spoke with Pete Hines, Bethesda Vice President of Marketing, while at gamescom 2015. The conversation shifted to what’s coming for the mainline Elder Scrolls series, and Hines offered that we shouldn’t hear anything soon. More explicitly, Hines said that it’ll be a “very long time” before Bethesda talks about what they’re working on after Fallout 4.

Dual Shockers learned that Bethesda Game Studio typically focuses on one game at a time, pouring all of their resources into that project until it’s done before moving on to the next. Fallout 4 will need to be fully out and supported before Bethesda is ready to really get cracking on a new Elder Scrolls.

A new Elder Scrolls is surely planned, but when we’ll hear about it remains a mystery.
